RSP Teacher

I became an educator because… Not everyone's path is a straight line. Prior to becoming an educator, I aspired to become a lawyer. I attended UCLA as a Political Science major but fell into many other jobs and experiences that led me to later become an elementary teacher, Head Start Family Advocate and literacy center coordinator. The one thing these positions all have in common is advocacy, which is why I became an educator. This is where I feel I can have the greatest positive impact.

Prior to Equitas, I… Prior to joining Equitas I worked for Early Head Start in the South Bay, Los Angeles Unified and East Oakland Unified as an elementary school teacher, Reading Partners as a literacy center coordinator, and then leaving teaching all together to raise a late in life baby.

I chose Equitas because… there was an immediate need for Resource Teachers. Equitas is where I made my pivot to special education.

Outside of school, I enjoy… being out in nature, resting and doing things that keep me calm.
