Equitas Vision for Equity
We hold a commitment to ensuring that all of our scholars have access to high-performing classrooms. With this commitment, we foster diverse, equitable, and inclusive conditions that encourage scholars, educators, leaders, and families to continue learning and growing. We emphasize becoming an anti-racist school community by building our collective capacity, working to disrupt harmful practices, and eliminating the barriers to equitable classrooms, schools, and offices. We prioritize lifting and celebrating the realities of historically marginalized and oppressed groups. With this, we honor the identities, present realities, and joy of the Black and LGBTQIA+ communities. As we work towards this, we build our understanding of restorative practices as a core component of empathy and understanding. We recognize that our work has no “quick fixes'' but rather promotes long and meaningful change. We are committed to collectively designing a future where all of our scholars thrive.
