I became an educator because… every student has a story to tell. It’s important they feel agency and confidence in sharing parts of themselves and have multiple modes for self-expression.

Prior to Equitas, I… lived and taught in New York City for 10 years. I started as a Kindergarten teacher and moved on to found the first Brooklyn based theatre program for my charter school network.

I chose Equitas because… I love how closely connected Equitas is to the Pico Union Community.

Outside of school, I enjoy… reading, hiking, trying new restaurants, and playing with my dog Ziggy.
