Enrichment Teacher

I became an educator because… I love working with kids and their imaginative, creative minds. I am inspired by seeing their tremendous growth from year to year and I value working with teachers who have a deep care and compassion for children.

Prior to Equitas, I… taught English Language Arts in Middle School for 2 years, followed by 3 years of teaching 2nd grade at Immaculate Heart of Mary, Los Angeles. I then switched roles to be the Decolonized Drama teacher for grades 6-8 at Citizens of the World in Silverlake for a year, then I found my way to Equitas.

I chose Equitas because… The mission and values of Equitas resonated deeply with me when I learned about the school. I was thrilled to find a position that allowed me to teach Theatre and Performing Arts at the elementary level because my heart belongs to the little ones. Throughout the interview and decision-making process, it was clear to me that Equitas held a strong school culture of collaboration, care and compassion that aligned with my own teaching philosophy so I knew it was the place for me.

Outside of school, I enjoy… singing, hiking, cooking, baking, trying new foods, listening to and dancing to music, creating floral arrangements, and planning events to celebrate the many wonderful blessings in life!
