I became an educator because… my personal experience with the educational system in the greater Los Angeles area was not equitable for scholars who looked and talked like myself. I didn't realize how I was being tracked or counseled away from college by the school system. When I finished college I decided to come back to Los Angeles to try and give our scholars a better experience than what I was given.

Prior to Equitas, I… was working with our smallest scholars in early education. I taught pre-school for 2 years before seeing the greater need for Latino males in Kindergarten.

I chose Equitas because… It was a small school network that was driven to help our families and scholars succeed.

Outside of school, I enjoy… road trips, hiking, photography, and being outside in nature. I also like to visit new restaurants that are opening in Los Angeles.
