I became an educator because… The pandemic made it hard for scholars to focus and be active in school. I became an educator because fitness and exercise is very important for our young scholars in which the pandemic made it hard for them to be active out doors.
Prior to Equitas, I… have always been involved with children up to high school students with the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army has been an organization that’s been involved with our Pico Union community.
I chose Equitas because… from what I’ve seen and being a part of the community, it’s still difficult for scholars to be active and to be fit. I wanted to lead and help scholars reach their fitness goals. Also, teach and help them with any other sports that scholars would like to participate in. Besides SOCCER!
Outside of school, I enjoy… coming home to my son and help my parents take care of him. Without their help, I would have not been a part of such an amazing community.
