I became an educator because… the individual who would prove vital to inspire me into a career in education was my high school social science instructor. He helped me overcome dilemmas I faced in high school, and also under his mentorship, I began to garner that passion for education and social justice that I now have. My teachers and mentors taught me about myself and opened my eyes to the rest of the world around me. I truly believe that no matter what "zip code" a scholar is from they deserve the best education! For our scholars, families, and community I want to be the empowered and inspiring teacher I wished I had when I was in elementary.

Prior to Equitas, I… graduated from UC Riverside where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Spanish. After graduating, I joined City Year, a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing scholars with the social, emotional, and academic skills to succeed in school and in life.

I chose Equitas because… education should empower scholars and help them make a positive contribution to our world.

Outside of school, I enjoy… spending time with my family and friends! I also love going to Disneyland with my son!
