Cruz Garcia
Instructional Aide
I became an educator because… I was inspired to motivate children of all ages to always do their best regardless of different learning circumstances, My main deep inspiration was being a role for children who have a learning disability, It's my personal educational journey from elementary to University that impacted me to work with children of all ages, as I finished school & starting to look into different career choices.
Prior to Equitas, I… worked at St. Anne's non-profit organization that supports young single pregnant women with child care/education & living resources as for example housing and food resources for them & their children, in this organization, I served as a office clerk at a "Head Start in Los Angeles " until I was offered a job to work for "Woodcraft Rangers" in Equitas Academy on pico union, which after I left St. Anne's for this new job opportunity. Woodcraft Rangers, gave me my first steps in approaching young student's learning how to communicate with them within different stages "Emotionally" " Thoughtfully" "Verbally" and developing a huge amount of patience and developing a child mindset in Play and how kids are learning within this era of education in 2024. Within time while being with "Woodcraft Rangers" a staff offered me to work at Equitas Academy Flagship as an Instructional Aide, where I was given the opportunity to use my skills that I've learned and excel further into my educational path where I was being thoughtful of how I can grow more.
I chose Equitas because… it was an opportunity for me to grow & figure out what type of educator I wanted to develop into.
Outside of school, I enjoy… I enjoy museums and I enjoy going to new coffee spots. I enjoy hanging out with friends and going out to nice restaurants. I enjoy going to the gym to free my mind. I love going out for walks. I love watching my favorite movies/shows. Love spending time with family
