Director of Talent and Culture
I became an educator because…I believe a strong and supportive education has the power to make a positive impact on individual lives and our community at large.
Prior to Equitas, I…graduated from University of Michigan with a BA in Sociology and African Studies. I became Teach for America Corp Member, teaching middle school emergent bilingual students in LAUSD schools. I then taught middle school math and reading at KIPP in Washington DC and KIPP Los Angeles. I attended Columbia University for my Masters in Educational Leadership before becoming at Principal Fellow here at Equitas, founding Equitas Academy #3 in 2015.
I chose Equitas because…we are an organization with roots in our community and big goals. We are proving what is possible when we work together towards a common goal. I am inspired by my colleagues who care deeply about our mission, work hard, and have fun doing it!
Outside of school, I enjoy…competitive running, yoga, and spending time with my husband, Brent, and my daughters Jane and Ada.
