I became an educator because… I don’t have a story where I’ve always known I wanted to be an educator. During my undergrad I studied theatre and at that time really thought I wanted to live life on stage. Throughout my early adulthood I have surrounded myself with volunteering within the youth community. I really enjoyed being in the environment and the connections I made with the scholars. From there on I submersed myself in the educational field. I want to support students in their educational growth while contributing to their creativity and personal identities. My greatest joy I gain while teaching is watching scholars grow from the beginning of the school year to the end, knowing I contributed to that is fulfilling in my career.
Prior to Equitas, I… was a teachers assistant and after school program leader.
I chose Equitas because… their vision for scholars was limitless and their connections with families. It is very important to me that there is a whole community behind a scholars educational growth and development and Equitas stands behind that.
Outside of school, I enjoy… traveling to new places and small hikes.
