Jocelyn Felix
Behavior Interventionist
I became an educator because… I strongly feel that all kids deserve someone who is in invested in their well-being outside of their home and I wanted to be that person for our students.
Prior to Equitas, I… worked with special needs individuals as an RBT providing in-home ABA services. Once I realized I did not like the in home atmosphere, I pursued a position as a Behavioral Interventionist through an agency and worked in the San Gabriel Valley. I enjoyed the school atmosphere but working through an agency never allowed me to watch my students grow for longer than a school year and eventually found Equitas through an old schoolmate.
I chose Equitas because… I felt they really did try their best to live up to the inclusive model and after spending time in schools that did not support the special education program, it was clear Equitas cares about all their students.
Outside of school, I enjoy… reading and spending time with family and friends.
