Liana Morrell

Teacher

Ms. Morrell started at Equitas Academy in February of 2024 as an Instructional Aide and In-House Substitute Teacher, and is coming back this school year as our 6th grade Social Studies teacher. She is excited to share her love for learning about diverse cultures and history of the world with our sixth graders. Her goal is to help scholars connect their lives and current world events with history in an accessible way that builds their critical thinking skills and their understanding about other cultures globally. Ms. Morrell graduated with honors from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Learning in December of 2023. Her philosophy of teaching is centered around scholars’ experiences and the wealth of knowledge they bring to the classroom. Prior to moving to LA for college, Ms. Morrell lived in Ecuador and the San Francisco Bay Area, where she was born and raised. Outside of school, she loves to travel, go on runs, find new places to eat, and attend community events.
