I became an educator because… learning about learning a new language was fascinating to me. I found a job in a founding dual language program and was hooked.

Prior to Equitas, I… worked as a classroom teach for grades 1 to 4, taught Spanish enrichment in elementary school, and worked as an instructional aid in a dual language program. While a finalized my English Language endorsement in California, I worked as a substitute in Pre-K to 12th, and tutored 2nd and 3rd grade students.

I chose Equitas because… of the number of families who have immigrated to the United States from Spanish-speaking countries and now Korea and Russia. I really enjoy helping students learn new languages, and have always chosen to work in schools that have the attitude that bilingualism is an asset.

Outside of school, I enjoy… spending time outdoors with my family, drawing and painting, and eating delicious foods from all over the world.
